So signing up to an almost fixed price stadium, where you’re not paying for stewards or policing etc make that profit margin look better against TV revenue etc

As I said THEIR bottom line operationally nothing to do with being able to by more players etc as the move was never going to make enough profit to do that.

But in their eyes it gave a good foundation for someone who did want to buy and then splash the cash on players.

I’m guessing Sullivan forgot that FFP might fuck that up what with not owning their own stadium.

"Something is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it."

Indeed but the basis for the club's valuation will be our turnover and potential profit margins.

I notice that little berk Sulli junior is keeping very quiet at the moment. Even his old man ha got the sense to have probably said "You go near that fucking Twitter and you'll lose your inheritance you little cunt".

They all make sick the dirty two bob cunts.

Re: Talk Sport rank G&S worst Premiership Owners
Something is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it.

A cheap stadium (low bottom line), 56k tickets allegedly sold each home game, potential to pick up ownership of the stadium are all things I reckon Sullivan thought would see the bids come flying in.

He even lied about Red Bull bidding to stir up some interest. It’s backfires on him massively and as he’s not prepared to actually use any of his own money, it’s all coming unstuck financially.

It would have cost the club far more to redevelop UP or build an equivalent size new ground elsewhere, than move to the LS. The share of naming rights and catering are balanced against the cost of stadium build and running costs we aren't liable for as tenants.

I can't understand how you can argue that it's not financially beneficial for WHU, but is good for the owners? The owners share values rely entirely on the wealth of WHU as a business. If our turnover hardly increased then neither would the club's value.

Re: Talk Sport rank G&S worst Premiership Owners
I expected it to be about what Sullivan has fessed up to it being, which was why I was against it all from the start.

Plenty on here we’re daydreaming about MILLIONS and MILLIONS. Even if the landlords get £100m a season in naming rights a season we’ll only ever see £2.5m of it, absolute waste of time deal for the club, but NOT for the owners.

We would have made more money redeveloping UP to 57k, planning permissions etc notwithstanding, so why would I be moaning about that?

Not sure what your point is as I think Sullivan should sell up irregardless of this, but you were arguing about these figures not being good enough...

What sort of increase did you expect from going from 35k to 57k?

Would you be moaning about it still if it we'd spent x amount redeveloping UP to 57k?

Re: Talk Sport rank G&S worst Premiership Owners
The stadium was the right move. The stadium isn’t a proper Football Stadium

Norman, I realise I've deleted part of your post here, but in my mind at least your second sentence contradicts your first.

G&S were desperate for a free stadium, whether at Brum or here. The money spent on the football "conversion" mainly went on the corporate bit which tells you everything you need to know about their intentions.

If the accounts show we’ve earnt more; Sullivan’s a liar and not prepared to invest so should leave.

If the accounts show we’ve earnt what Sullivan said; Sulkivan’s A liar and sold our soul for no reason, so he should leave.

What are we scrapping over here? A couple of mil max? FMOB

Eh?

I just answered your question, and backed it up with figures.

It'll all be shown whether I'm right or not when the accounts come out.

Because he said the Olympic Stadium rather than all revenue. As we have a limitation on number of seats and know the pricing and what that would return it's a figure that is easy to project, while we have no real limitation for growth of sponsorship, merchandise etc...

There is also a bit in here about ticket sales too which would back up what I thought...

Gold is being taken for a ride by sullivan just like the rest of us imho.

Gold is a cunt same as the rest of them...

Northern Sold 2:39 & 2:41

I don't disagree with you there. Sadly, I think the whole Newcastle affair is proof that the fans who attend have little sway in getting the owner to sell up.

If I was surrounded by people that hate me, I'd quite happily rake in millions and millions of pounds. Not sure I could be like Private Dancer and do it for free though.

Jaan - the seats might be where you expected them to be, but that doesn't excuse the lies told by Gold about the actual distance.
They lied about retractable seating - no disputing that.
Brady lied about having a veto for sharing the stadium.

the bit about moving fixtures i will downgrade to being misled.

Re: Talk Sport rank G&S worst Premiership Owners
Why would you do that Jaan?

Back in 2016 he said this:

'We're hoping to bring in one or two top players but the Olympic Stadium gives us about £12m a year in extra income. It doesn't give us £100m a year in extra income.

'So we've got £12m more.'

Then in Dec 2017 he said:

“We’re about £10m a year better off,” he says. “It’s not going to change our lives.”

“I just think we feel like a big club, not a tinpot club. When players come to look at West Ham, they look at where you play.”

No qualification at all in either quote about it only being ticket revenue.

Plenty in the second about it being for show, which incidentally Sullivan makes us tinpot you fucking prick.
